[January 2023]
In January 2023, I finally visited Barcelona - a city I'd heard so much about but had somehow never managed to see during my time in Spain.
Started with the Gothic Quarter, wandering through narrow medieval streets that felt like a maze. Found a small bookshop that only sold poetry. Bought nothing, felt guilty.
The Sagrada Família lived up to the hype. Standing inside, looking up at those columns that branch like trees, I finally understood why people wait in line for hours. The light through the stained glass windows creates something that feels less like a building and more like a forest made of rainbows.
Also visited Park Güell. Touristy? Yes. Worth it? Also yes.
January isn't beach season, but Barceloneta was beautiful in a melancholic way. Had the best patatas bravas of my life at a place I can no longer find on Google Maps. This is either a tragedy or proof that some experiences are meant to be ephemeral.
Absolutely. Three days wasn't nearly enough.
