./july 2024
- we finished our respective new lasagnas
- let out an uncomfortable laugh when the waiter came up to us and said "DOING A LITTLE BUFFET, AREN'T WE FAMILY?? HEHEHE..."
- we decided to swap
- watched silvia get full after eating half of hers
- ordered a bolognese lasagna and got full after eating half
- after my successful doctoral qualification, went to an ""expensive"" ""Italian"" restaurant to celebrate
- did absolutely nothing about my academic career
- declared that July would officially be "me time"
- went to pilates 3 times a week, regularly
- watched silvia get sick after eating an equally infected cashew candy
- ate a piece of couscous that had probably been touched more by flies than by humans
- saw a coati (less than 1km above sea level)
- saw a newborn (1km above sea level)
- was pleasantly surprised to realize I was the fittest person among the 4 present, an unprecedented event that I fear will never happen again
- climbed to the 2nd highest point in the city of Rio de Janeiro for the second time in my life, this time without incurring psychological damage from facing a dangerously vertical staircase
- met up with a couple of friends
- started thinking about what an Inside Out TTRPG would be like, where each player would control a different emotion and try to pull things their way, until I remembered that there's a Dimension 20 season that is literally that
- despite -- or because of -- my low expectations for the movie, I actually had fun (side out)
- watched Inside Out 2 in theaters with my parents
- ate a piece of couscous that hadn't been touched by flies, but that also wasn't very tasty, and reflected on this fact for longer than I should have -- maybe the flies know what they're doing
- was reminded of the inexorable passage of time when I realized that a friend's brother, whom I met when he was a pre-teen, is now not only a full young adult, but also identical to Roberto Carlos v1960
- didn't have tea or see pans
- attended a "bridal shower"
- received a "steal his look" kit... of spyro
- in general, I was just very happy to be able to do something I've wanted to do for so long
- rejoiced in jubilation when applying lessons learned and realizing there was a clear improvement trend
- against all odds, GM'd a third session
- made mistakes again, and listed again the learnings that could be extracted from the experience
- GM'd a second RPG session
- made mistakes and reflected to extract lessons from them
- said the expression "meters of rat" at least 10 times
- fulfilled my dream of properly GM'ing an RPG session
- took a supposedly "reckless" action and turned down an irrefusable offer from my boss
- pre-ordered Mausritter in PT-BR
- printed about 4 or 5 RPG books
- downloaded another zillion RPG PDFs
- watched the SU&SD video about Arcs and felt like playing Arcs
- listened to a podcast with Quinns about his pivot to TTRPG journalism and started wondering what, if any, would be my pivot after 10 years in computing
- started subscribing to the Quinn's Quest patreon solely because of a tweet from Quinns with a Mausritter box
- watched the first week of the Olympics, and by "watch", I mean I existed in a house where the TV was on all day on CazéTV, showing Brazilians losing and Japanese winning
- started watching A Very Important People, also on Dropout, and was surprised to realize that it's not that these people are 100% of the time funny, it's just that Game Changer is really good
- watched all available seasons of Game Changer on Dropout (except the remote one), and was flooded with the great feeling of being entertained by a game show where you know almost all the participants
- watched "Big Trouble in Little China" and found it fun
- consolidated my thoughts in a review for posterity
- with the (inadvertent) help of a pen pal, I was able to understand what attracts me so much to this beautiful trilogy
- warmed my heart by revisiting all these characters I love and admire
- watched silvia complete Mass Effect 3, and consequently, the Mass Effect trilogy
- wrote a not very positive review about Alan Wake Remastered
- played and finished Alan Wake Remastered
- in a tit-for-tat scheme, was put to play Alan Wake -- a game important to silvia
- played 10 minutes of Mosa Lina, from Stuffed Wombat, and didn't feel like playing more
- played 2h of Overboard, from Inkle Studios, and felt like playing more
- inspired by an app can be a home-cooked meal, shared the bot with my close friends
- happily realized that this digital stenographer was being useful in my day-to-day life
- made a Telegram bot that receives voice messages, transcribes them using Whisper, and summarizes them using GPT-4o
- we're back on track and the project will be out Soon(TM)
- aborted mission, went through at least three cycles of "this is impossible... we won't make it..." -> "hm... what if...?"
- in the moments before the rocket launch, realized that the landing module was broken, and that it would arrive at the destination perfectly but everyone would die in the process
- made all the necessary preparations to launch the translation tool for Tokimeki Memorial: Forever With You
